How Home Comfort Experts Gives Back to the Michiana Community

Our belief at Home Comfort Experts is that we not only serve our communities by providing the highest quality plumbing, heating and air conditioning products and services, but also in giving back to the communities we live and work in.

DAV (Disabled American Veterans)

Supporting the men and women who have sacrificed so much
for our freedom is important to Home Comfort Experts. In the fall of 2011, HCE launched a fundraising campaign to help this organization help our veterans. Our efforts culminated on Veteran's Day — November 11, 2011, where we presented our donation to a local chapter of the DAV.

We're proud to support this organization, and will continue to do so on an annual basis.

Habitat for Humanity

Home Comfort Experts has donated heating and cooling equipment and installation for Habitat of Humanity homes
every year since the company was formed.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and Holiday Food Drives

We also raise money for various organizations including the American Cancer Society (Making Strides Against Breast Cancer) and the Alzheimer’s Foundation. The past several years we’ve collected thousands of food items for the Northern Indiana Food Bank and other local food pantries.

Proud supporter of Street Kids Care

Street Kids Softball began and remains a highly competitive men’s traveling softball team from South Bend, Indiana. The organization started in 1978 as a simple league team. In 2003, TJ Jorgenson became the owner of the team and created a website – StreetKidsSoftball.com.

The site quickly became immensely popular and the team decided to take advantage of this popularity and use it to talk about community issues. Their first charitable event began in 2005. The event became an incredibly powerful one that spawned Street Kids Care.

The team became involved in many charitable events, such as working with the homeless in Elkhart with Faith Mission, partnering with Ziker Cleaners for “Coats For Kids”, giving away toys at Christmas time at Madison Center, donating baseball items to other countries with “Pitch In for Baseball”, partnering with HOPE for Animals in Fort Wayne for animal rescue, but their biggest mission has been with the fight of children’s cancer with Memorial Children’s Hospital of South Bend, Indiana.

Street Kids Care has hosted huge bowling events with Memorial, had children and their families at the park for their annual “opening night” event, where the kids come on the field with the team and play. The Street Kids Care Courage Award is presented to young people who have persevered through this terrible disease.

“The folks at HCE have been there for us for the last few years and have made it their goal to partner with Street Kids Care and show the community that together, we can accomplish the impossible.”

- Street Kids Care owner TJ Jorgenson.
